We are pleased to welcome international students, researchers, academicians, and professionals to IPRECON 2027 in Kerala, India. To facilitate your participation, we have outlined the necessary visa information and procedures below. Please read the following instructions carefully to ensure a smooth application process.
Please do not apply for a tourist visa, as it is not valid for conference participation and may lead to rejection or unnecessary complications and expenses.
International participants attending IPRECON in person must apply for an Indian e-Conference Visa — intended specifically for those visiting India for conferences, workshops, and similar academic or professional gatherings.
Conference visas are issued for the duration of the conference and the travelling time. Delegates may also combine tourism with attending the conference.
The process is relatively straightforward — follow the instructions carefully and submit all required documentation. For questions, contact the Indian Mission in your home country.
To apply for the e-Conference Visa, follow the four steps below in order.
Only participants whose papers have been accepted and who have completed the full registration process will receive an official Conference Invitation Letter from the organizing committee. This letter is required for the visa application.
You will need to upload the following during the application:
Submit your application through the official Government of India e-Visa portal. Select the "e-Conference Visa" category and complete all required fields.
Processing time typically ranges from 12 hours to a few days. Upon approval, you will receive a PDF copy via email. Print this document and carry it during travel. Special e-Visa counters are available at major Indian airports.
As per the visa regulations of the Government of India, invitation-letter eligibility varies by country.
The IPRECON organizing committee will not provide conference invitation letters to individuals holding citizenship of the following countries:
Conference invitation letters will be issued only to participants from countries listed as eligible under the Indian Government's e-Visa program.
Nepal & Bhutan are visa-exempt and are covered separately — see Visa Exemption below.
Individuals of Pakistani origin, irrespective of their current citizenship, are not eligible to receive visa invitation letters from the organizing committee. "Pakistani origin" refers to individuals who currently hold or previously held Pakistani citizenship, or whose parents or grandparents were citizens of Pakistan.
Delegates from two neighbouring countries may attend IPRECON 2027 in person without applying for any Indian visa.
Citizens of Nepal and Bhutan do not require a visa to enter India, in accordance with the Freedom of Movement Agreement between these countries and the Republic of India. Along with citizens of India, they may attend in person without the need for a visa.
Nepali and Bhutanese delegates are treated the same as domestic delegates for on-site registration. No invitation letter is needed for immigration purposes.
No qualified paper is left out because of a visa outcome.
In alignment with our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, authors from countries or backgrounds that are not eligible for Indian visas will be allowed to present their papers remotely via an online platform — so every qualified submission can contribute, regardless of national or visa limitations.
Authors whose country of citizenship is not eligible for an Indian e-Visa, or whose visa application is refused despite a complete submission.
Write to the organizing committee as soon as the visa outcome is known, quoting your paper ID and registration reference.
Registration fees, review outcome, presentation slot, and IEEE Xplore submission are unaffected by presenting remotely.
